Football Game Preview: Claymont Mustangs vs. Indian Valley Braves

Claymont hasn't had much luck against Indian Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Braves at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Claymont 13.9, Indian Valley 10.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

Claymont is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Ridgewood on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs lost 28-7 to the Generals. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Meanwhile, Indian Valley got themselves on the board against Tuscarawas Valley on Friday, but Tuscarawas Valley never followed suit. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 54-0 win over the Trojans. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won seven matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.

Claymont better keep an eye on Grady Kinsey. He was instrumental in Indian Valley's win, rushing for 109 yards and one score. Kinsey's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 13th straight game with at least 109 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Claymont's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Indian Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Claymont took a serious blow against Indian Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 35-0. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
