Baseball Recap: Suffield Academy Wins Going Away Against Williston Northampton

Suffield Academy hadn't done well against Williston Northampton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Wildcats 9-1. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Charlie Gamere spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Lester was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Suffield Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Gabriel Rivera was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Suffield Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Suffield Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Williston Northampton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Suffield Academy will be playing at home against Millbrook School at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Williston Northampton, they will square off against Cheshire Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
