The Oak Hills Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Apple Valley Sun Devils at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Hills is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
On Tuesday, Oak Hills got the win against Hesperia by a conclusive 14-4. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
CARSYN LEON spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Oak Hills got a massive performance out of KAYLIN STEEDE, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave STEEDE a new career-high. Another player making a difference was AMAYA SIGALA, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
STEEDE wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Oak Hills lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Apple Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 15-5 to Sultana. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Sun Devils have suffered since March 7th.
Hailey Macias made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Liza Lozano, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Apple Valley's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-5-1. As for Oak Hills, their record is now 7-8.
Apple Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oak Hills has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Apple Valley, though, as they've been averaging 9.7 hits. Given Oak Hills' sizable advantage in that area, the Sun Devils will need to find a way to close that gap.
Oak Hills might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Apple Valley when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
