Preview: Rock Academy Warriors vs. Mountain Empire Redhawks
The Rock Academy Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Mountain Empire Redhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mountain Empire took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rock Academy, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Rock Academy got themselves on the board against Maranatha Christian, but Maranatha Christian never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles, posting a 40-0 win on the road.
Donald Moore iii got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Moore iii was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Rock Academy also got a significant boost from Max Gimbel, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 41-7, which was the final score in Mountain Empire's tilt against Orange Glen on Friday. Mountain Empire has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rock Academy's victory on Saturday bumped their record up to 3-4. Mountain Empire has been struggling this season, as they've lost eight of their first nine games, which leaves them at a 1-8 record this season.
