Football Recap: Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost to the Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans at home by a 19-0 margin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 405th, while the Spartans are ranked 154th).

Winthrop College Prep Academy found their leader in freshman Maya Degreenia, who rushed for 45 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 53 yards and a pair of TDs.

Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

As of now, neither Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
