Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central and Cary-Grove squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Central had to settle for second. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cary-Grove Trojans. The Rockets have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Jacob Johnson, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Johnson's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Shell, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 22-10. As for Cary-Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-13.

As of now, neither Central nor Cary-Grove have any future games scheduled.
