South Tahoe never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 41-0 win over the Wooster Colts. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Vikings' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 806th in California, while the Colts are ranked 54th in Nevada).

One reason for the win was South Tahoe's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Nash Bigley refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

South Tahoe has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points this season. As for Wooster, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Tahoe will challenge Churchill County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Vikings' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Wooster, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Damonte Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
