Softball Recap: Atkins Gets the Win

Atkins had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Hector on Thursday. The Atkins Red Devils never let the Hector Wildcats get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Atkins' record is now 7-2. As for Hector, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atkins will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Perryville at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st. Perryville will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Atkins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hector, they will square off against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
