Football Recap: Mission Finds Home Field Redemption Against Juarez-Lincoln

There's no place like home for Mission, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Juarez-Lincoln Huskies on Thursday as they made off with a 41-16 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won seven in a row.

Alejandro Cano had a dynamite game, throwing for 242 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes, while also punching in one rushing score. He is becoming a predictor of Mission's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is 3-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). The Eagles also got a significant boost from Richard Acevedo, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.

Mission's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Juarez-Lincoln, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, Mission will face off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. The Raiders' defense has only allowed 8.9 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. Juarez-Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
