Baseball Game Preview: Southside Tigers vs. Westside Rams

For the second straight game, Southside will face off against Westside. The Tigers will take on the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southside is looking for their season's first victory.

Southside fell victim to Westside and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 16-0.

For Westside's part, Caleb Christian looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Christian has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Westside got a massive performance out of Phoenix Herndon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Herndon has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Holmes, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

Westside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Westside pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Southside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.
