Softball Recap: Kingsville Falls to Santa Fe in First Game of Season

Kingsville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 11-4 to the Santa Fe Chiefs on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Kylie Stout made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Collens, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. As for Santa Fe, they will venture away from home to challenge Cole Camp at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
