LATHROP, Mo. - the Mules scored 25 points in the second quarter to secure a big 31-0 victory over North Platte (Dearborn, Mo.) on Saturday.
Lathrop scored on a
Logan Lobb touchdown run, a passing touchdown, a touchdown catch by
Robert Askren and a touchdown catch by Askren in the quarter.
The lead that LHS took on a touchdown run by Askren with 9:00 to go in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
The Mules had given up an average of 17.0 points prior to the contest.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Lathrop, which was coming off a 28-14 defeat at the hands of Lawson in its previous game.
Lathrop (5-1) will play a KCI game against Plattsburg next week, while North Platte (0-6) will take on East Buchanan also in a KCI game.
