Softball Recap: Lake Zurich Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lake Forest on Wednesday, Lake Zurich came back down to earth. The Bears came up short against the Carmel Corsairs on Thursday, falling 16-3. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Corsairs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Claire Kohlman was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Alyssa Springer also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Lake Zurich's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14-1. As for Carmel, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Lake Zurich will take on Zion-Benton at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Carmel, they will challenge Oswego at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
