Recap: General McLane Lancers vs. Meadville Bulldogs
The General McLane Lancers were the 73-56 winner over the Meadville Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. General McLane ended up on the wrong side of a tough 72-52 walloping at the hands of Meadville on Friday. It was the first time this season that General McLane let down their fans at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meadville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Burchard, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Burchard has scored at least 25% of Meadville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Luteran, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
General McLane's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3. As for Meadville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. General McLane will challenge Erie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meadville is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Grove City at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Grove City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Meadville is ranked 153rd).
