Football Recap: Mepham Takes a Loss

If Mepham was riding high fresh off their 35-0 takedown of Glen Cove last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates had to suffer through a 44-7 loss at the hands of the Garden City Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Trojans are ranked 14th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Mepham fell to 3-1. As for Garden City, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mepham is set to take on their familiar foe New Hyde Park Memorial on Saturday. Meanwhile, Garden City will face off against rival Glen Cove on Saturday.
