Softball Recap: Ezekiel Academy's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Ezekiel Academy had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Southern Christian Patriots a 9-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 back in March.

Addie Newell was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Hannah Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Ezekiel Academy's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 29-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Southern Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Looking ahead, Ezekiel Academy will take on Edgewood Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southern Christian, they will face off against Victory Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
