Soccer Game Preview: Central City Value vs. Orthopaedic

The Central City Value Jaguars will take on the Orthopaedic Vipers at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Central City Value managed to keep up with Animo Bunche until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Jaguars lost 7-4 to the Stallions. Central City Value haven't had much luck with Animo Bunche recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orthopaedic). They put the hurt on Aspire Ollin with a sharp 8-2 win on Monday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Orthopaedic's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Aspire Ollin are ranked 314th).

Orthopaedic's offense was hitting Aspire Ollin from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. David Aranda led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

The victory made it two in a row for Orthopaedic and bumps their season record up to 5-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two matches. As for Central City Value, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-3-1.
