Baseball Recap: Evansville North Wins Going Away Against Pendleton Heights

The Evansville North Huskies made easy work of the Pendleton Heights Arabians on Saturday and carried off a 9-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Conner Watson made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aiden Vaught was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Brooks Carroll was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Evansville North's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Pendleton Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evansville North will challenge Bloomington South at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pendleton Heights, they will be playing at home against Richmond at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
