Vallivue has gone 8-1 against Ridgevue recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Falcons will host the Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. Vallivue is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
On Friday, Vallivue beat Emmett 28-21.
Onix Carson produced another solid effort rushing for 193 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. Another big playmaker for Vallivue was Isreal Pina, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vallivue was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Another reason for the win was Vallivue's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 6.5 sacks. Evert Eells was especially locked on to Emmett's QB and sacked him 2.5 times. Vallivue got some further help from Kolby Linder: he forced one fumble and made 20 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridgevue). They really took it to Caldwell for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-15 win. The Warhawks haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Vallivue better keep an eye on Hunter Schmittel. He was instrumental in Ridgevue's win, throwing for 241 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punching in a pair of scores on the ground.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Ridgevue, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Cameron Johnson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Vallivue now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ridgevue, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Vallivue has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 214.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ridgevue struggles in that department as they've been averaging 200 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Vallivue against Ridgevue in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 44-7 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Warhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
