Softball Recap: Freeburg Comes Up Short

Freeburg fell victim to Belleville East and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Lancers, falling 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Midgets have suffered since April 22nd.

Freeburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Joseph, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Freeburg's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Belleville East, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Freeburg will face off against Mt. Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Belleville East, they will challenge Glenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
