Volleyball Recap: NCSSM: Durham Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

NCSSM: Durham posted their closest victory since March 12th on Thursday. They skirted past the Triangle Math & Science Tigers 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Unicorns: when they faced off against the Tigers back in April, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (110-105) NCSSM: Durham actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 29-27, 15-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Triangle Math & Science still got an impressive performance from Shankara Dhamodaran, who had 22 digs and two aces. Dhamodaran is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

NCSSM: Durham's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. As for Triangle Math & Science, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-5.

NCSSM: Durham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability on the 2nd. As for Triangle Math & Science, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Eno River Academy on the 5th.
