Baseball Recap: Pine Forest Comes Up Short

If Pine Forest was feeling good fresh off their 17-7 takedown of L.E.A.D. Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles lost 11-1 to the Escambia Gators on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Gators: they've now lost four in a row.

Pine Forest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AL Leatherwood, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another was Caleb McWilliams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Pine Forest's loss dropped their record down to 1-20-1. As for Escambia, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Forest will challenge Harrison County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Escambia, they will face off against Pensacola Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
