It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Slippery Rock ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with an 85-76 win over the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers. The Rockets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Loss or not, Mercyhurst Prep got some senior leadership from Tanner Ashton and Alex Manendo. Ashton posted 27 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Manendo had 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The game was Ashton's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Ollinger, who put up ten points.

Slippery Rock pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
