Football Game Preview: Edgewood Bulldogs vs. Arp Tigers + How To Watch

The Edgewood Bulldogs will challenge the Arp Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Edgewood comes in on eight and Arp on seven.

Edgewood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodville, sneaking past 59-56. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly three points.

Edgewood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevor Golightly, who rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 285 yards and a pair of TDs on only 18 passes. That's the most rushing touchdowns Golightly has posted since back in September of 2024. Lucas Pippin was another key rusher, rushing for 172 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Arp slipped by Daingerfield 29-28.

Arp's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Zyon Washington was the leader with two sacks.

Arp's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Edgewood, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Things could have been worse for Edgewood, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-24 loss to Arp in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Frank Smith (who threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 125 yards and one TD on only 14 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
