Softball Game Preview: Woodford County Yellowjackets vs. Central Yellow Jackets

It'll be a Battle of the Bugs Woodford County Yellowjackets face off against Central Yellow Jackets at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Central is facing Woodford County at the wrong time: Woodford County suffered their first home loss of the season on Wednesday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 4-1 to the Eagles. The game marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Woodford County got a good showing from Kylie Stamper, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Stamper has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Woodford County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Norah Ashburn, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Central lost 18-3 to DuPont Manual last Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Woodford County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1.
