Basketball Recap: Waterville Takes a Loss

Waterville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Erskine Academy Eagles and fell 71-20. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Eagles are ranked 39th).

Waterville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Erskine Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterville will venture away from home to take on Mount View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount View will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Waterville surely won't give up without a fight. Erskine Academy has already played their next contest (against Leavitt), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
