Volleyball Recap: Warrenton Comes Up Short

If Warrenton was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Fulton on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Warrenton fell just short of Winfield by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Warrenton has struggled against Winfield recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Warrenton took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-18, 24-26, 25-12, 15-11.

Warrenton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Winfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9-1.

Coincidentally, Warrenton and Winfield will both be playing Wright City the next time they take the court. Warrenton will host Wright City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Winfield will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
