Softball Game Preview: Midwest Central/Illini Central Raiders vs. Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats

The Midwest Central/Illini Central Raiders will face off against the Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Midwest Central/Illini Central will be strutting in after a victory while Cuba/Spoon River Valley will be coming in after a loss.

Midwest Central/Illini Central took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Deer Creek-Mackinaw by a score of 10-6. Considering the Raiders' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Midwest Central/Illini Central got a big performance out of Emma Junkin, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Ava Warner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Cuba/Spoon River Valley finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 11-0 to Brimfield. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Midwest Central/Illini Central's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
