Soccer Game Preview: Trinity Presbyterian vs. LAMP

The Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats will head out to square off against the LAMP Golden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Trinity Presbyterian has seven straight wins, LAMP has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Trinity Presbyterian gave up the first goal last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Wildcats who were credited with the victory. Trinity Presbyterian got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Montgomery Catholic's four. Cade Letner had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Trinity Presbyterian.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for LAMP's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Opelika on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that LAMP have lost by exactly two goals.

Trinity Presbyterian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four contests. As for LAMP, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Trinity Presbyterian took their win against LAMP in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
