Baseball Recap: The Webb Schools Takes a Loss

The Webb Schools was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 last Tuesday.

Alec Kaushal was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Gavin Hamilton also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The Webb Schools' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

The Webb Schools and Capistrano Valley Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Webb Schools (ranked 1118th) will meet Western Christian (ranked 529th) at 3:15 p.m. on April 17. Meanwhile, Capistrano Valley Christian will take on Edison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday down 153 places (293 vs. 140).
