Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Pumas vs. Citrus Valley Blackhawks

Chaparral was the 3-0 winner over Citrus Valley when they last played one another back in September of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Chaparral Pumas fell just short of the Citrus Valley Blackhawks by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Pumas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Chaparral sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 15-5.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Citrus Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophia Swogger, who had 19 digs and two aces. Natalia Contreras was another key player, getting ten digs and 16 assists.

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Citrus Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Chaparral didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Vista Murrieta on the 30th. Citrus Valley has also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Redlands on the 28th.
