Softball Recap: Packinghouse Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Packinghouse Christian Academy couldn't beat Calvary Baptist on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Bears lost 22-5 to the Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 29-17 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Devyn Curran was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Savannah Ybarra, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with four stolen bases.

Packinghouse Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Calvary Baptist, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cougars beat Packinghouse Christian Academy by a score of 12-1 on Friday.
