Basketball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy lost against Lemoore back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Kennedy Thunderbirds took a hard 58-43 fall against the Lemoore Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 890th, while the Tigers are ranked 315th).

Papa Laye went supernova for Lemoore, going 7 of 10 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Laye has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Micah Fox, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Lemoore, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Kennedy will venture away from home to challenge Del Oro at 6:30 p.m. on January 6th. Kennedy is facing Del Oro at the right time seeing as Del Oro is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lemoore, they will take on Sanger at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
