Soccer Game Preview: Riverside vs. Ribault

The Riverside Generals will head out to challenge the Ribault Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside will be strutting in after a win while Ribault will be coming in after a defeat.

Riverside barely beat San Jose Prep the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Generals blew past the Storm 7-3 on Wednesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Riverside's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Ribault unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Westside by a score of 2-1 on Friday. Ribault have struggled against Westside recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

The victory got Riverside back to even at 2-2-1. As for Ribault, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Riverside beat Ribault by a goal when the teams last played back in January, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
