Volleyball Recap: Buckeye Local Comes Up Short

Buckeye Local was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Indian Creek Redskins. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Redskins when the teams met back in September of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 25-14.

Brooke Kovalski paced Buckeye Local's offense, picking up seven kills. Kovalski got some help from Samantha Westfall and her six assists. Finally, Kovalski was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

TyLee Spencer was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 digs and three assists. Those three assists gave her a new career-high.

Buckeye Local's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Indian Creek, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buckeye Local will face off against Brooke at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Indian Creek, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Beaver Local at 6:30 p.m.
