Kaedon Petties leads Cottonwood Classical Prep to victory over To'hajiilee

Recap: Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes vs. To'hajiilee Warriors

The Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes's five-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They came out on top against To'hajiilee by a score of 42-29. The victory was just what Cottonwood Classical Prep needed coming off of a 89-29 loss in their prior contest.

Kaedon Petties continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bo Lobaina, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.

To'hajiilee's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khyran Guerro, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Jamen Werito, who scored eight points.

Cottonwood Classical Prep's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13. As for To'hajiilee, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cottonwood Classical Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cuba at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Cuba is ranked 119th, while Cottonwood Classical Prep is ranked 125th). As for To'hajiilee, they will head out on the road to square off against Ramah at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramah is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
