Morton Ranch was handed a 28-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Alief Elsik Rams, sneaking past 51-49. For the Mavericks, this counts as revenge for the 34-33 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.

The win got Morton Ranch back to even at 1-1. As for Alief Elsik, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
