Baseball Recap: Monte Vista Christian's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

After flying high against King City last Tuesday, Monte Vista Christian came back down to earth. Monte Vista Christian fell just short of the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mustangs have suffered since March 12, 2024.

Carter Wright made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mikie Melenudo, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Monte Vista Christian fell to 7-1. As for Ann Sobrato, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Monte Vista Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-4 defeat against Scotts Valley on the 22nd. As for Ann Sobrato, they have also already played their next game, a 13-1 victory against Hill on the 20th.
