Donnie Rodriguez Dazzles in Bristol Central Victory

Bristol Central picked up their eighth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Donnie Rodriguez. Rodriguez did his part (and then some), rushing for 155 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 70 yards and two touchdowns for the 'W'.

Unfortunately for Wethersfield, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Rodriguez. Rodriguez rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns the last time he and the Eagles duked it out back in October of 2023.

Lincoln Bashaw Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Bristol Eastern took down Farmington on Friday, a win that might not have happened without Lincoln Bashaw's standout effort. Bashaw made a major impact, rushing for 186 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (111.8) per game. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Bristol Eastern and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Bashaw and Bristol Eastern will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Newington at 6:30 p.m. on October 17th.

Josiah Sims was instrumental in extending Newington's winning streak to five on Friday. Sims turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 38 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown.
