Basketball Recap: Raymond Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Raymond waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Yazoo County Panthers 63-38. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Panthers are ranked 153rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Raymond is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Yazoo County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raymond will be home for the holidays to greet Pass Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Pass Christian has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 241 points over their last three contests. As for Yazoo County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Winona at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
