Softball Recap: West End Comes Up Short

West End fell victim to Cherokee County and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 1-0. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

West End saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DaLeigha Wheeler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Wheeler's first of the season.

West End's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Cherokee County, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-1.

West End has already played their next contest, a 10-3 loss against Southside on the 5th. As for Cherokee County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-0 defeat against Plainview on the 5th.
