Preview: Springstead vs. Central
Springstead will be defending their home turf for the first time on Thursday when they go up against Central at Springstead High School at 6:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Springstead had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They captured a comfortable 35-16 win over Weeki Wachee.
Meanwhile, Central couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-35 to Hernando. Central were down by 0-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Springstead's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Central's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Springstead can add another positive mark to their record or if Central can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Springstead's step.
