Soccer Game Preview: Penobscot Christian vs. Ashland

Penobscot Christian will head out on the road to face off against the Ashland Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Penobscot Christian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Penobscot Christian fell victim to Calais and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, Penobscot Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Calais is ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ashland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over East Grand on Monday. Ashland haven't had any issues with East Grand recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ashland hit East Grand with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Corbin Rafford, Kaleb Dotson, and Zane Zarate.

The victory got Ashland back to even at 3-3-1. As for Penobscot Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
