Preview: Aquinas Blugolds vs. La Crosse Central Riverhawks
Aquinas has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the La Crosse Central Riverhawks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Aquinas scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 93-69 margin over Holmen. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Samantha Davis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The match was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Madeline Murphy was another key contributor, going 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 1 assists.
Meanwhile, even though Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, La Crosse Central still came out on top. La Crosse Central took their match against Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln 69-56. The win made it back-to-back wins for La Crosse Central.
Aquinas' victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.86 points. As for La Crosse Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Aquinas against La Crosse Central in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 75-47 win. Will Aquinas repeat their success, or does La Crosse Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
