Baseball Recap: Ralston Valley Falls Short of Fossil Ridge in the Playoffs

Ralston Valley and Fossil Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Ralston Valley had to settle for second. They fell just short of the SaberCats by a score of 6-5. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Cole Pfeifer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Nico Benallo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Ralston Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Fossil Ridge, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5.

Ralston Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fossil Ridge, they will challenge Arapahoe at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the SaberCats surely won't give up without a fight.
