Soccer Game Preview: Shoemaker vs. Harker Heights

Shoemaker hasn't had much luck against Harker Heights recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Shoemaker Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Harker Heights Knights at 7:15 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Shoemaker is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Copperas Cove, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 722nd, while the Bulldawgs are ranked 267th).

Meanwhile, Harker Heights fell victim to Copperas Cove and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldawgs. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shoemaker's loss dropped their record down to 0-9-1. As for Harker Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-2.

Shoemaker came up short against Harker Heights in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Shoemaker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
