Basketball Recap: Norland Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Norland can now relate to. They were outmatched by the North Miami Pioneers and fell 68-29. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

North Miami was led to victory by Donnesha Morency and Jadore Hayes. Morency dropped a triple-double on 19 points, ten boards, and ten steals, while Hayes dropped a double-double on 16 points and 30 rebounds. Hayes is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 15 or more in the last six games she's played. Alijah Rene was another key player, putting up ten points.

Norland has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for North Miami, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-8.

Norland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Miami, they will take on Lourdes Academy on Saturday. Lourdes Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
