The Independence Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Franklin Admirals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Independence is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Independence took a four-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Brentwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bruins on Tuesday. Independence's winning goal came courtesy of Hayden Smith.

Meanwhile, Franklin faced Ravenwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Admirals walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Raptors. Winning may never get old, but Franklin sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Franklin pushed their record up to 7-0-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matches. As for Independence, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Independence beat Franklin by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
