Menlo-Atherton has gone 8-2 against Carlmont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Menlo-Atherton Bears will head out to face off against the Carlmont Scots at 6:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Wednesday, everything came up roses for Menlo-Atherton against Westmoor as the squad secured a 59-28 victory. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Rams are ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Carlmont earned a 56-46 win over Aragon on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scots.

Menlo-Atherton better keep an eye on Willow Ishibashi-To. She was instrumental in Carlmont's win, going 6 for 15 on her way to 18 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Ishibashi-To's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Cyan Yee was another key player, putting up six points.

Menlo-Atherton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Carlmont, their record now sits at 8-6.

Menlo-Atherton couldn't quite finish off Carlmont in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 71-68. Can Menlo-Atherton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
