It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 35-34 to the Thompson Warriors. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayshaun Woodhouse, who rushed for 127 yards, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Woodhouse's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 127 rushing yards. JJ Joiner also helped with two scores in total.

Thompson found their leader in sophomore Urijah Casey, who rushed for 106 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. Casey's longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another receiver making a difference was Darion Moseley, who picked up 100 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Thompson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thompson, after both having extra time off, they and Opelika will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on December 3.
